If I told you that you could improve your health and help protect the environment would you do it? I’d surely hope so and with that said here are a few simple eco friendly suggestions that will leave you mind and body smiling and our world just a little bit greener!

* You’ve Got Two Feet – Use Them!

Now I understand it’s not always feasible but when you’ve got the choice to use your legs you should. If you can walk to the grocery store instead of hopping in your car that’s wise because the exercise will do your body good and not using your car is a nice friendly gesture to your pocketbook.

* Two Wheels Are Better Then Four

If the weather cooperates why not bike to work or to the corner store instead of firing up the beast? This is going to help strengthen your heart and lungs, not to mention the fact you won’t have to pay for parking and gas.

* Gas Converter

Did you know that most cars can be converted to Liquified Petroleum Gas, which gives off less harmful fumes than regular gas or diesel, it’s environmentally friendly and costs less to run. Need I say more?

* Lay Off The Gas

Drive smart by pretending you’re in a drag race and revving the crap out of your engine or braking quickly and you should also make sure your vehicle is serviced regularly. These minor details will help keep your car running efficiently and do a little bit in helping reduce the negative impacts it has on the environment.

* Roofin It

If you’ve got a roof rack for carrying extra cargo it’s important you take it off when it’s not in use because this will cost you in fuel efficiency. Seemingly minor in the big picture it’s little things like this that will help when push comes to shove.

* Lighten Your Load

If you are a pack rat of sorts and end up driving around a bunch of junk, you need to cut it out. Cleaning out your vehicle is going to lighten your load and help you save money on gas. Making sure your tires aren’t under inflated is also important in helping your car run more cost effectively as a unit.

* Share And Share Alike

I think we learned something about sharing in school? Making the effort to carpool with your buddies is going to save you oodles of money in gas, car repair, parking and stress! Driving is stressful any way you look at it and if you can cut back on it why not?

* Smart With Oil

One thing for certain is that oil and water just don’t mix. Unfortunately some people do their own oil changes and get rid of it in waterways, killing fish and other aquatic and animal life along with vegetation, not to mention poisoning the water itself. Be smart and dispose of your oil responsibly so that you don’t harm the environment intentionally.

Your health is the most important thing you have and pretty close to it is the world you live in and it’s important to do anything and everything you can to keep your body and mind healthy and to make the right choices for the environment. I challenge you to figure out other ways where you can improve you physical condition and better the environment simultaneously…starting now!
